Description: This is the study boundary that was defined for the Southwest Saskatchewan Multi-species Action Plan (ECCC, 2017). The South of the Divide (SoD) study boundary is basically the Milk River drainage basin in Saskatchewan as defined by Version 8 (2008.03.31) of the PFRA Watershed Boundaries for the Canadian Prairies. The lands of interest that intersected the basin boundary were also added to the study area definition: Nekaneet Cree Nation Indian Reserve, Birch and Maple Grazing Coop Ltd., Piapot and Bear Grazing Coop Ltd., Black Hills Grazing Coop Association, Scotsguard Grazing Coop Ltd., Beaver Valley Community Pasture, Auvergne-Wise Creek Community Pasture, and Mankota Community Pasture. The boundary was further defined to ensure that the boundary definition was made by land ownership by quarter section.Environment and Climate Change Canada. 2017.
