Description: The SWA_Lands feature dataset depicts parcels of land currently held by the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority as per the Information Services Corporation (ISC) Land System database. Polygons are a subset of ISC's SaskGIS Cadastral dataset; specifically, the "Surface" feature dataset. See ISC cadastre dataset for complete metadata on that product.
Description: The Saskatchewan Game Preserves are described in Part III of the Wildlife Management Zones and Special Areas Boundaries Regulations (WMZSABR). They are constituted as areas for protecting, propagating, managing, controlling, regulating or enhancing wildlife or its habitat.

Description: In 2003 the GIS unit of the Canadian Wildlife Service, Prairie and Northern Region (PNR) was given the task of creating GIS files to represent the Federal lands for use under the Species at Risk Act (SARA). Geospatial files were obtained from the Directory of Federal Real Property in January 2004. These point and polygon files were structured to show federal property in the PNR as area representations and as point labels. The National Wildlife Areas were developed from the legal descriptions included in the Canada Wildlife Act: Wildlife Area Regulations and matched to the cadastral where possible. Description: This dataset represents all Crown Conservation Easements registered with the Ministry of Environment. Section 11.4 of the Conservation Easements Act gives specific directions with respect to interests on title and registration of a CCE. To be in effect a copy of an executed CCE must be provided to the Ministry. Receipt of this document is recorded in this Fish, Wildlife and Lands Branch database and an Agreement number is assigned sequentially. An interest, based on the CCE, must also be registered with Information Services Corporation (ISC). Currently these two datasets are not reconciled. Technical Details: Crown Conservation Easements are meant to protect wildlife habitat and ecological values on private titled lands in the Province. Crown Conservation Easements are registered as a condition of sale, on all Crown Wildlife Habitat Protection Act lands that are assessed as having Moderate ecological values. A CCE is registered to a numbered parcel. It is this parcel identification that is reflected in this spatial dataset. The Agreement Number is included which identifies the filing number under which detailed information can be found in digital and hardcopy within the Fish, Wildlife & Lands Branch of the Ministry of Environment.
